Lamborghini now also has a video game-only supercar
Following a short teaser posted a few days ago, Lamborghini has unveiled its virtual V12 Vision Gran Turismo supercar. It looks quite bold and unusual, as befits something that exists solely in virtual reality.
The Italian carmaker claims that the car comes powered by a hybrid powertrain based around a gas-chugging V12. This likely refers to the real-world Lamborghini Sian Concept, which sources 785 horsepower (585 kilowatts) from its V12 and 35 hp (26 kW) from the electric motor. This configuration enables it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.8 seconds.
Lamborghini also claims that the V12 Vision Gran Turismo is ‘the fastest virtual supercar ever’.
The exterior of the vehicle is indeed quite smoothly designed, owing to a large extent to the lack of real-world production restrictions. It houses only one seat accessible from the front end, like in some fighter jets. Any hardware buttons still deemed necessary sit on the steering wheel, and the HUD supports augmented reality.
The vehicle will hit the virtual roads when the next instalment of the Gran Turismo racing sim series gets released in the spring of 2020.
