Mahindra Roxor gets banned in the USA over patent violations
29-11-2019 15:20
Mahindra has been producing this lookalike of the legendary Jeep CJ based on a license for many years, and Jeep seemed completely unconcerned by this. Things changed abruptly with the company’s arrival on the North American market and production launch in Michigan.
FCA filed its first lawsuit in August 2018, and the court ruling finally followed today proclaiming Mahindra in violation of copyright. The U.S. International Trade Commission is yet to approve of the ruling, but for now, it looks like Mahindra Roxor production and sales in North America will be permanently banned.
Furthermore, market experts expect FCA to follow up with another lawsuit demanding a financial reimbursement for the damages.
