Mercedes-Benz has yet to announce when the GLA and GLB facelifts will reach the showrooms, but the specifications have already arrived.

Both crossover SUVs get slightly redesigned bumpers, radiator grilles and updated lights, while the GLA also gets a new hood cover. Buyers can now choose Spectral Blue for the finish, as well as assorted wheel options sized up to 20 inches in diameter.

The entry trim level for both models includes a multimedia display upsized to 10.25 inches and a 7-inch digital dash screen. Paying extra gets the dash display to the same size as the head unit.

Speaking of multimedia features, voice recognition and the UI have been improved and you can now opt for a selection of mini-games. These games are displayed on the middle screen, but you control them using the capacitive buttons on the steering wheel.

In the engine department, the 1.3L and 2.0L petrol options now come bundled with an electric starter adding 14 PS (14 hp / 10 kW) to the total. The available power ratings are 136–224 PS (134–221 hp; 100–165 kW) and the torques vary from 230 to 350 Nm (170–258 lb-ft). All-wheel drive is an option reserved for the 2.0-liter lineup.

The diesels continue to be offered without any electrification. The displacement amounts to 2.0L, while the power varies from 116 to 190 PS (114–187 hp; 85–140 kW) and the torque from 280 to 400 Nm (207–295 lb-ft). The top spec goes AWD only, while the middling GLA 200d spec offers a choice between 2WD and AWD.

The GLA 250e hybrid comes with a range of improvements including a more potent electric motor now rated at 109 PS (108 hp / 80 kW). Despite this, the combined system output remains unchanged at 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft). The traction battery has been reworked, too, and now yields around 70 km (43.5 miles) of all-electric range from 11.5 kilowatt-hours of capacity.

The GLB gets the same assortment of powertrains except for the plug-in hybrid.
