Mercedes-AMG GLA-Class flexes VÄTH muscles
German tune-up shop VÄTH has graced the world with another sleeper – a relatively discreet-looking Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S packing the punch of a serious sports car.
Speaking of the 45 S AMG, it is impressive straight from the factory thanks to having the world’s most powerful turbocharged four-pot at its disposal. The engine makes 421 PS (415 hp / 310 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque as is, but a stainless-steel downpipe, a new exhaust system and a tuned ECU let it hit the wheels with 490 PS (483 hp / 360 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. A new, larger intercooler also made it into the build.
Elsewhere, the VÄTH-tuned GLA has reinforced brake lines and slightly shortened suspension springs. The exterior stays the same, unless you count those 20x9-inch alloy rim shod in 255mm tires.
